What happened during the Villages Spring 2012 Polo season that stands out?
Well, best to start at the very beginning,
right?

# 1-- Opening Season Party
*Cuko practicing less than a week after breaking his collar bone
*Boosters lining up to watch a
practice game--are
we starved for polo or what?
*And, what else? Beer and food
and polo players amongst us.

#2 -- The first weekend:
Friday March 30 & Sunday April 1. FREE Friday was advertised to the general public and the fields
were overwhelmed with "newbies," eager to see a match, not understanding what's going on, unfamiliar with the rules and courtesies
that follow, BUT this is an opportunity to TEACH them. So... get out there, Boosters, and help them learn the game.
Our "official" opening match was on April Fool's Day, but this 8 goal match, sponsored by Kava Spa, was no prank!
Fross and Fross handily beat Citizens 10 to 5. And, several of our "regular" favorites were on the field: Paige Boone,
Nick Cifuni, Jason Pascarella, and Julio Reyes among them. There were clouds on the horizon but we hung on, through consolation
and championship matches, bullying our way through the trophy presentation. Then, just before our Barbados drawing, we ran for
shelter, but the drawing was carried on....
Players and fans may have gotten a bit wet, but Stuart's children, Pippa and Ian, found enjoyment as only kids can.

#3 -- Our second weekend -- was EASTER weekend! At the Friday prelimiary match --once again highly attended by many new to Polo--Lordy
entertained, and announced. Always great to have him bring his sound system and his expertise for our enjoyment.
And, it was a slugfest as players worked for goals to determine Sunday's consolation and championship matches.
At Easter Sunday's match, Eagle Prime and Ardens fought in the Consolation game. Glenlivet offered sourvenirs and a gorgeous
car to parade the field. Citizens knocked out Morgan Stanley by 2 goals, and bunny ears seemed to be the dress code for the
day!
However, there ARE those who prefer the more traditional
"Easter Bonnet" to being a bunny!
